2006 Red Wagon Parade Raised Most in Event History: $54,741
Randstad Comes Aboard as Title Sponsor to Lead the Parade to Another Record

Jacksonville, Florida, May 23, 2007 Representatives from the Gator Bowl Association presented Julia Handley, director of development, Wolfson Children's Hospital, and Sue Goebertus, chair of the Red Wagon Parade, with a check for $54,741, proceeds raised from the 2006 Red Wagon Parade, an official Gator Bowl event. This set a new fundraising record for Wolfson's annual Red Wagon Parade.

Proceeds from the 2006 Red Wagon Parade enabled Wolfson to purchase new state-of-the art technology, the Luminetx VeinViewer. The VeinViewer allows nurses and clinicians to see veins below the surface of the skin, projecting a visual roadmap to the patient's vessels. The VeinViewer is especially valuable in caring for premature babies, children and others with hard-to-find veins. Wolfson is the first children's hospital in the state of Florida to acquire this new technology.

Funds raised through the Red Wagon Club are used to cover other critical equipment and programs that fall outside the regular operating budget of Wolfson Children's Hospital. These funds also help to offset $10 million in charitable and uncompensated care provided to young patients.

Larry Freeman, administrator of Wolfson Children's Hospital, says, "No child is ever turned away from the hospital regardless of the ability to pay for services." Wolfson is a regional referral hospital serving children in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.

Randstad USA will be the title sponsor of the 2007 Red Wagon Parade and will lead the parade of wagons as they help to kick off Mayor John Peyton's Book Club Registration at the Main Library Downtown on September 29, 2007. All wagons will be given awards based on decor and theme, and the 10 selected wagons will roll again in the televised Winn-Dixie Hometown Gator Bowl Parade downtown on December 31, 2007. The Randstad Red Wagon Parade will be the first official Gator Bowl event for 2007.

Clubs, schools, businesses or individuals can sponsor a wagon for $1,000. To enter a wagon in the event or for more information, call Julie Handley at Wolfson Children's Hospital, 904.202.2881, or Lauren Andry at the Baptist Health Foundation, 904.202.2250.
