This is the bass tournament you can't afford to miss. Four hundred and thirty-three (433) boats fished the 2008 tournament hoping to bring home the $10,000 First Place purse or the $5,000 Big Bass Pot, and over $42,000 in cash prizes were awarded to the top 10% of the field. As Florida's largest bass tournament, it is a must for your 2009 marketing plan. Your participation as a sponsor of this tournament is supporting a cause second to none: Children. Proceeds from the tournament are directed to Wolfson Children's Hospital (WCH) at Baptist Medical Center (BMC), Jacksonville, Florida. The Plant Facilities Department at BMC wanted to play a major role in funding capital improvements and technological advancements for the Children's Hospital. They created this tournament with the goal of making it the largest in the state raising money for kids. The Tournament Beneficiary, Wolfson Children's Hospital, recognizes that children are our greatest resource and, since 1972, has built upon this foundation to provide specialized care for sick and injured infants and children. The Children's Hospital has grown to become a 180-bed specialty children's facility where over 50,000 inpatients and outpatients are treated each year. The $45-million Children's Hospital is a major component in a regional cooperative health program between four healthcare institutions being developed to consolidate children's health resources along with offering pediatric education and research. The other three are Nemours Children's Clinic (adjacent to the Baptist Medical Center campus), a major diagnostic outpatient clinic for children; Shands Jacksonville, and the University of Florida Health Science Center in Gainesville. The consortium, which serves patients throughout the region, is a national resource for advanced pediatric medicine. Wolfson Children's Hospital is a pediatric center of excellence where children receive the best health care available. Since the fishermen's entry fees are returned as cash prizes, Children's Hospital proceeds are raised solely through your sponsorship.
