Wolfson Children's Hospital offers a number of support groups and access to community resources for patients and their families. Mended Little Hearts of Jacksonville A support program for parents of children with heart defects and heart disease. It is dedicated to inspiring hope in those who care for the littlest heart patients of all. Mended Little Hearts of Jacksonville offers resources and a caring support network. Tear Catchers This gathering is a parent support group for families who have suffered the loss of a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, or newborn death. Discussions include crisis intervention, parent-to-parent outreach, education, and comfort. Weigh to Health Camps Every summer, Wolfson's Behavioral Health Department holds intensive, experiential camps for children and adolescents struggling with weight and body image issues. The camps, which are offered in partnership with the Yates Family YMCA in Riverside, introduce children to the key components of a healthy lifestyle, including:
- Balanced nutrition
- Mindful eating and becoming a wise consumer
- Reducing emotional eating and overeating
- Moderate, enjoyable physical activity
- Healthy coping skills
- Improved body image and self-esteem
Boggy Creek Gang Boggy Creek Gang is a nonprofit medical camping center specifically designed and equipped for children younger than 17 who have or have had a chronic or life-threatening illnesses.
