Nursing Services
At Wolfson Children's Hospital, our nursing professionals are leaders in pediatric nursing practice, research, education and advocacy. They have established standards of care that achieve the best outcomes for children and their families through a holistic, family-centered approach. Nursing performs an essential role in the promotion and maintenance of wellness throughout the continuum of care, providing health care education to the child and family, which promotes increased family autonomy in meeting their health care needs.
We Are a MagnetTM Hospital
Wolfson Children's Hospital recently achieved Magnet™ recognition, an international quality designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center that is enjoyed by less than five percent of hospitals in the country. Wolfson is one of two children's hospitals in the state and one of three in the southeast that have Magnet status, considered the "gold standard" for nursing and clinical care.Leaders in Nursing Research
Wolfson Children's Hospital nurses conduct pediatric nursing research, using evidence-based best practices for decision-making through current research, clinical expertise, and patient/family values and preferences.Homeyer Institute for Nursing Research and Education
The Homeyer Institute for Nursing Research and Education was created to help critical care nurses provide evidence-based best practices at Wolfson Children's Hospital and Baptist Downtown. The Institute houses all Wolfson and Baptist Downtown nursing education and research activities, including computer workstations for nurses to use for clinical research, along with nursing journals and books. The Institute also sponsors an annual Nursing Research Day benefiting Baptist Health nurses and nursing students.
